Afterburner with Bill Whittle: The Train Set (by Pajamasmedia)

In 1 Timothy 6:10, the Bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil (not money itself, as many mistakenly believe).  PJ Media’s Bill Whittle makes the case that the love oftheory is the root of all modern evil, as he explains in his new Afterburner.  And he has a pretty good point, at least over the last 100 years.  Dedication to theory at the expense of evidence and fact has borne malicious fruit in that time, resulting in the deaths of tens of millions around the world.

“If I wanted America to fail”

If you have not watched this video, you need to do so.

It has always been an accepted right of Americans, as the history of our Western states proves, that where the law is unable, or unwilling, to enforce order, the citizens can, and must act in self-defense against lawless violence.
Robert F. Williams

Under the Carter administration, gas prices increased by 103.77 percent. Gas prices since Obama took office have risen by 103.79 percent. No other presidents in recent years have struggled as much with soaring oil prices. Under the Reagan administration, gas prices actually dropped 66 percent. When Bill Clinton was president, gas prices grew by roughly 30 percent, and under both Bush presidencies, gas prices rose by 20 percent.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.
H. L. Mencken

As Pethokoukis says, it’s an anecdote that defines the presidency.

“I Don’t Get It” should be the Obama administration’s motto.  There is a school of thought that Obama and the Democrats are trying to destroy this country.  While I am not dismissing that theory, I am willing to accept incompetence as the root cause of their behavior.  As Ronald Reagan reportedly said, ”The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant: It’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.”

I am sure some Progressives understand the inherent lies of Progressivism.  Some are just opportunists who use Progressivism to gain wealth and power.  I am sure some Progressives are true believers, though, who believe all of this commie nonsense they have been taught.  I can accept Obama is in that camp.  After all, there is Hanlon’s Razor: “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

From the blog post linked above, “On the other hand, some “good students” are complete idiots themselves, and what makes them good students — pliability, willingness to believe — is exactly what makes them bad thinkers.

Obama’s that type, obviously.

He has no rebelliousness of mind. No defiance of thought.

He believes everything his leftist professors and leftist heroes and leftist patrons (like Bill Ayers) told him.

He’s got a soft mind. A soft man, who’s lived a soft life, with soft hands, and a soft mind.

“Gary Shapiro, the president and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), wrote today,
“President Obama is the most anti-business president in my lifetime.” “
So I am not the only one who has noticed?

“Because of slavery (Democrats did it), KKK violence (Democrats did it), segregation (Democrats did it), Jim Crow laws (Democrats did it) and other historic abuses heaped on black Americans in our country by the Democratic Party and its supporters, America has been a bit oversensitive about race for the last few decades. Of course, the political party responsible for all of that racism is now the one shouting, “You’re a racist,” and trying to pit different racial groups against each other. That might seem ironic at first glance, but if you think about it, it’s actually par for the course. Since its founding, the Democratic Party has always tried to generate racial strife; it just uses a little different strategy today than it did in the past. Unfortunately for Democrats, the race card just doesn’t work as well as it did in the good old days. There was a time when a condemnation by Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton produced actual fear as opposed to eye rolls and laughter. It wasn’t so long ago that being called racist was a threat, as opposed to just being more of an annoyance today. That has only changed in the last few years for a few select reasons.”

If one good thing comes out of the manmade disaster known as the Obama administration, it will be that the Democratic party’s trumped up game of faux racism is quickly unravelling due to being so overplayed.

I used to view feminist organizations like NOW at least neutrally.  After NOW and Larry Flynt became strange lapdogs for Bill Clinton, defending his illegal and unethical behavior, NOW lost all credibility with me.  I also recommend reading this article about the feminist movement.

I used to think there were two sides to the story between Israel and the Palestinians.  After I saw Palestinians dancing in the streets after the 9/11 attacks, the Palestinians lost any hope of ever getting any support from me.

Basically I have learned these groups who believe they should get special treatment due to their race, gender, sexual orientation, or other physical or identity characteristics are full of weak, broken, amoral, and opportunistic people. These people deserve no more than what any other person receives, which is the freedom be left alone and to earn their own living rather than trying to steal from others.

“The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.” — Winston Churchill

Saying that capitalism is better than socialism is like saying that winning a million dollars is better than being in a high impact car crash. In other words, if you have an open mind, a good grasp on human nature and economics, and a passing knowledge of world history, there’s absolutely no question that capitalism is superior to socialism.

The question between capitalism and socialism is simple.  Do you want to control your own life, or do you want someone else to control it? Do you want liberty or slavery?

Anyone who believes this woman is getting played.  She is not a 23-year-old law student.  She is a 30-year-old activist, who is being directed by the White House.  Birth control does not cost thousands of dollars per year.  It can be had for $9 per month, the cost of two lattes.  Obama’s HHS mandate also covers the “day after” abortion pill, which is not used for the hormone therapy cited as a “women’s healthcare concern”.  Ms. Fluke allegedly can’t afford $9 per month for birth control, but like the Obama’s, she is taking vacations which are unaffordable for most taxpayers, who are being asked to subsidize this woman’s birth control.  Since Progressives constantly screech that they do not want their sex lives judged by other people, why should other people pay for the Progressives’ sex lives?
